Biometrics on the Move
![]() |
As global travel continues to expand there is an growing challenge in trying to detect those few intent on illegitimate ends among the vast majority just going about their desired business and leisure activities. Strong and rapid identification of people on the move can really help alleviate these situations and is an area of increasing interest to Government Border Control Agencies and to port and airport operating companies. With the development of high throughput recognition sub-systems such as the AOptix InSight™ and Sarnoff Iris On The Move™ (IOM), iris technology has a leading role to play. |
Smart Sensors is at the fore-front of the development of iris image capture, assessment and encoding techniques for use in on-the-move and at-a-distance environments. Already selected by BAE Systems as a biometrics technology partner in its Investment In Innovation programme, Smart Sensors helped develop the “Tunnel of Trust” demonstrator shown at the Farnborough International Airshow 2010.
